The Brief
Hitting the usage cap right in the middle of a complex prompt is the modern equivalent of your pen running out of ink. That frustration is officially over. OpenAI has removed all text-chat usage limits for users on its GPT-5.6 Luna model. If you rely on ChatGPT for high-volume daily tasks, the barrier just dropped to zero.
Giving you unlimited access is great, but your boss still wants to know what you are doing. To handle the enterprise side, OpenAI rolled out a new Admin plugin for ChatGPT Work and Codex. Managers can now monitor adoption, analyze usage patterns, and approve resource requests directly within the chat interface, reducing the context switching required to oversee corporate AI deployments.
But while the software side expands, the infrastructure side is shuffling. OpenAI just lost top data center executive Tim Malone amid an internal team reorganization. Scaling all those unlimited Luna chats requires serious iron, and leadership turnover could rattle their long-term deployment stability. To offset their reliance on third-party hardware, OpenAI just revealed the first results for its in-house Jalapeño inference chip, designed to deliver lower latency and higher efficiency.
Over at Anthropic, they are focusing on memory. If you use Claude, you know the pain of copying and pasting the same background context into every new project space. Anthropic finally updated Claude to maintain your context and preferences between its standard chat interface and the Cowork collaborative space. You no longer have to repeatedly brief your AI on long-term projects.
Sometimes, even the best frontier models are not enough. Fintech firm Ramp found that general-purpose tools from major AI labs were underperforming within its specific codebase. Instead of waiting for a better off-the-shelf model, they built their own custom coding agent called Inspect. It is a clear signal that deep context and specialized in-house tooling are beating one-size-fits-all solutions.
This trend of specialization is showing up in how AI impacts our actual jobs. In our August 25 edition, we noted a Stanford study showing AI automation hitting entry-level roles hard. But for highly specialized experts, the story is different. A new look at the medical field shows AI is shifting radiologist roles toward high-level diagnosis rather than replacing the professionals entirely. The AI handles the routine medical image triage, leaving the complex decision-making to the human.
Bottom line: The tools are getting out of your way. With unlimited Luna chats and Claude remembering your project context, you will spend less time managing the AI and more time doing the work. If you manage a team, use OpenAI's new admin tools to track what is actually useful. If you want to stay competitive, focus your career on the complex, strategic decisions the models still cannot touch.
